“LA CUISINE, C’EST DE L’AMOUR”
Christian TETEDOIE was born near Nantes in 1960 in a family where his parents were the owners of market stall and his love for good and fresh products undoubtedly originated his interest in cooking. Aged 7, Christian started to love preparing soups using freshly picked products. At the age of 11, his uncle gave him “Cuisine from the market” by Paul Bocuse. From this moment on, Christian knew that he wanted to become a renowned Chef.
In 1975, he began an apprenticeship in Joseph Delphin’s 2-Michelin-star restaurant. The hard-working methods he was taught gave him the taste for intense and precise work, consistency and perseverance. He also was a good student as he passed his Culinary Certificate at the age of 16 and was elected Best French Apprentice (‘Meilleur Apprenti de France’) at 17.
This success opened the doors to the legendary Paul Bocuse 3 Michelin-star Restaurant. He started as a commis chef (assistant-cook) until being promoted Section Head Chef. Christian was then offered a prestigious opportunity as he cooked at the Elysée Presidential Palace, taking care of the presidential meals personally.
From Michelin-starred restaurants to famous chefs’ ventures, he built up his experience and sensitivity in several restaurants like ‘Greuze’, ‘Oasis’, the Castle of Coudrée and especially under the direction of Georges Blanc (the multi Michelin-star winner) where he reached the position of Head Chef from 1985 to 1987.
After all these years thinking about his project, in 1987, he decided to open his first restaurant in Lyon, the French Gastronomic capital.
In 1996, Christian reaped a rich reward from his efforts by winning the title of French Best Cook (‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’).
In 2000, the Michelin guidebook awarded him a Michelin star.
Christian TETEDOIE has now different restaurants in which he proposes an authentic and modern cuisine , full of emotions. He is offering it in a gastronomic version à “L’ANTIQUAILLE” , in a more traditional version at LA VOUTE CHEZ LEA. He also wants to support employees in their evolution, which led him to open with Hiroyuki Watanabe, a former “second” FLAIR Gourmandise et Connivence , a bistronomique restaurant. He also opened a kitchen nursery named “ARSENIC” in order to help young chef.
Christian TETEDOIE also wants to defend the values of his profession and he is committed to the promotion and the development of French gastronomy throughout the world. He was, as such, elected President of the largest associations of chefs, “LES MAITRES CUISINIERS DE FRANCE “, in March 2011 (460 chefs around the world).
Through the years, thanks to his thirst for undertaking new projects and his will to make his cuisine known and appreciated by all, Christian TETEDOIE has become a dynamic and ambitious Chef who has also remained very human and generous.
