It is not by chance that the Cheffe chooses Paris for her studies of economy and marketing that she will leave a little later for her great passion: cooking and gastronomy. She then enthusiastically began her professional studies in culinary arts in the French gastronomic schools in Paris “Le Cordon Bleu”, “Ritz Escoffier”, “Alain Ducasse formation”, “Lenôtre”.
With ideas in her head, she creates Evi Evane (www.evievane.com) with her sister Maria, where she defends with passion and patriotic ambition the Greek cuisine, but also the two delicatessens, Evi Evane catering & Evi Evane mezès. The Nikolaou sisters want to show true Greek cuisine, far from tourist “clichés”. You will find a menu 100% Greek cooked as in the different regions of Greece, as well as more than 150 Greek products, small producers that she chooses herself.
She teaches for many years in culinary schools in Greece and France (Chef, Le Monde, Le Cordon Bleu) because she is convinced that knowledge must be transmitted. Since 2006 she has been the star of various culinary shows and since 2012 she has also had her own show “Cooking with Dina”. She likes to write and continues to transmit her knowledge in the magazine “Olive” of the Greek newspaper “Proto Thema”.
His books and TV shows are always awaited by the public who appreciates it for its simplicity and kindness. Its purpose is to make it clear abroad that Greek cuisine is not only tzatzíki or souvlaki. She tries to give a fresh and modern touch in all the Greek dishes that she prepares. This is the message she is putting through her latest book in 2017 published by the publishing house Hachette, entitled “Greece – The Authentic Kitchen”.
